ADDRESSING THE HOT BUTTON ISSUES

For 2011 Nuclear Power Europe moves to Italy, which has made nuclear power a vital component of national energy policy. Having passed legislation to work towards 25 per cent of electricity generated by nuclear power by 2030, Italy is a key player in the European nuclear renaissance.
 
Nuclear Power Europe encompasses the whole sweep of nuclear power in Europe: competing reactor designs from across the world, a 'progress report' on new build nuclear power plant projects under construction, the supply chain, finance, contracts, regulation and addressing the skills gap.
 
A key element of the conference is to bridge the gap between the past, present and future of nuclear energy in Europe. The existing fleet of nuclear power stations is at the forefront of proceedings: maintenance, upgrades and life extension opportunities across Europe, as well as decommissioning, waste and other legacy issues will be discussed in detail.
